Who we are

Al-Mizan makes software for jewelry stores: inventory, point of sale, RFID counting, repairs, gold buying, an online catalog, and photos with Beautify. It runs on the web and in the iPhone and iPad app.

These terms are an agreement between Al-Mizan, based in California (“Al-Mizan” or “we”), and the business that opens a store account (“you” or “the store”). By creating an account or using Al-Mizan, you accept them. If you accept for a business, you confirm you may bind it. Our privacy policy is part of these terms.

Accounts and your team

Al-Mizan is for businesses. You must be at least 18 and able to make contracts.

The person who opens the store is its owner. The owner invites the team and sets what each person may do. You are responsible for everything done under your store’s accounts, including by your staff.

Give true details, keep passwords and PINs private, and give each person their own account. Tell us at once at support@almizan.gold if you think an account was misused.

Free trial

A new store gets a 14-day free trial with every module. No card is needed to start it. A hardware request during the trial may extend it once.

Nothing is charged unless you buy Al-Mizan. It is bought once, with Care paid monthly or yearly, on the web through Stripe, in Settings → Your plan.

If Al-Mizan is not bought when the trial ends, the store becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted.

Al-Mizan, Care and prices

Al-Mizan is bought once for a store. Care, which keeps it running (hosting, backups, updates, support and Beautify), is required and paid monthly or yearly. RFID is an add-on bought once. The prices are shown on our pricing page and on Your plan, or are the ones we agreed with you in writing. You pay the prices shown when you buy, plus any tax.

We may change the price of Care. We will email the owner at least 30 days before a new price applies to your store. It takes effect at your next renewal after that. What you paid once is never charged again.

Billing and cancelling

Al-Mizan and Care are bought on the web through Stripe. Care renews on its own, monthly or yearly, until stopped. Stop it, or change between monthly and yearly, in Settings → Your plan. Stopping Care ends it at the end of the period you paid for; after that the store is read-only, and renewing Care opens it again. The iPhone and iPad app is free and sells nothing.

Payments are not refunded for part of a period, except where the law requires. If a payment fails, we will tell the owner. If it is not fixed, the store may become read-only until it is.

Beautify

Care includes Beautify, within a fair monthly allowance. What is not used in a month does not carry over to the next. A photo that the check refuses, or that fails, does not count. Names and descriptions written by the AI, when you turn that on, are included within fair use.

Hardware

Hardware, such as RFID readers, tags, printers and cash drawers, is not part of Al-Mizan or Care. It is sold separately by quote and invoice and ships from the vendor. The manufacturer’s warranty applies. Al-Mizan does not give its own hardware warranty.

How you may use Al-Mizan

Use Al-Mizan only for a lawful business. Do not use it to buy, sell or hide stolen, counterfeit or illegal goods.

If you buy gold or other goods from the public, follow the laws for secondhand dealers, precious metal buyers and pawn shops where you work: seller ID, records, hold periods and police reports. Al-Mizan helps with these records, but you are responsible for meeting the law.

You are responsible for your tax rates, your prices, your receipts and your return policy, and for having the right to keep your customers’ data and to contact them.

Do not try to get into another store’s data, test or break our security, overload the service, copy or resell Al-Mizan, or upload anything you have no right to or that is unlawful.

Your data

Your store owns its data. You let us store and process it only to run Al-Mizan for you, as our privacy policy says. You can download a copy at any time in Settings → Data and privacy.

We use your data to improve our AI only if you sign a separate data licence.

We may use general, anonymous figures about how Al-Mizan is used, which do not identify a store or a person, to run and improve it.

AI output

Beautify makes studio photos, and the AI writer (when you turn it on) writes names and descriptions. AI can be wrong: it can get a karat, a stone or a detail wrong, or change how a piece looks. Review everything before you use it or show it to a customer. You are responsible for what you publish.

Market metal prices and GIA report details come from other companies and can be late or wrong. Check them before you pay or set a price.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Al-Mizan running and your data safe, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may pause it for maintenance.

We improve Al-Mizan often and may change or remove features. If we remove something central to what you pay for, we will tell the owner first.

Some parts rely on other companies, such as Stripe, Apple, our AI partners and your hardware’s maker. Their terms apply to their part.

Ending

You can close your store at any time in Settings → Data and privacy. It becomes read-only at once, web billing stops, and 30 days later its data is deleted. Download what you need first.

When Care stops, or the trial ends without Al-Mizan being bought, the store becomes read-only and nothing is deleted. You can still sign in, see your data and download it.

We may suspend or close a store that does not pay, breaks these terms or the law, or puts others at risk. Where we can, we will warn the owner first and give time to download the data.

Disclaimers

Al-Mizan is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Al-Mizan is not legal, tax or appraisal advice.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, or for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, even if we were told they were possible.

Our total liability for all claims about Al-Mizan is limited to the amount the store paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You will defend and hold us harmless against claims from others that come from your goods, your data, your use of Al-Mizan or your breach of these terms or the law.

The iPhone and iPad app

These terms are between you and Al-Mizan, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, support or maintenance, or for any claim about it, including product, legal or intellectual property claims. If the app fails its warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund what you paid for it; Apple has no other warranty duty.

You confirm you are not in a country under a U.S. embargo and are not on a U.S. list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as they apply to the app.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Claims are heard in the state or federal courts in California, unless the law says otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, email the owner before they take effect. Using Al-Mizan after that means you accept them.

General

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement about Al-Mizan. If one part cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them with the business.
